Description
Troops of the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR) stationed in Japan are being put through their paces in final preparation for their entry into the Korean War. Wartime conditions were intensified by typhoon Kesia which struck the training area soon after the bivouac started. Despite the adverse conditions, the troops came through admirably in their first experience in Japan of the type of tactical conditions likely to be found in Korea. Here the Commanding Officer of 3RAR, 237504 Lieutenant Colonel C H Green, has a drink outside the Brigade Headquarters tent during a break.
