A group of reinforcements for the Special Force in Korea arrive at Kure, Japan, on Friday, November 1950. A group of soldiers line the deck of the ship as it docks at Kure wharf. Left to right are: unidentified; 2400181 Private (Pte) W McGrath of Merrylands, NSW; Pte M Dale of Kingsford, NSW; 2400238 Pte L Thornton of Neath, NSW; unidentified; and 2400258 Pte A Pitchford of Abermain, NSW. Pte Thornton and Pte Pitchford had previously served in the Second World War. Pte Thornton died in Japan on 6 March 1952, during his period of service in the Korean War.
