A commando casualty, Corporal (Cpl) Ray Todd of Dipton, Newcastle-on-Tyne, was evacuated from Korea to the British Commonwealth General Hospital at Kure, Japan. He is having his wound treated by Lieutenant Esther Ritchie of Welles, Somerset, England, and the Queen Alexandra’s Royal Army Nursing Corps (QARANC). She is applying plaster to Cpl Todd’s left arm, which is probably broken.
