Description

A sandal for a giant. This huge rope sandal is a thanks offering from a devout Japanese for answered prayers. It’s traditional in Japan to leave these gifts with frightening guardians. Three unidentified patients from the British Commonwealth General Hospital at Kure, Japan, are visiting during a sightseeing trip. The servicemen, who are wearing civilian dress, are recovering from injury or illness after having been evacuated from the Korean War.
