Description
The original grave of 575 Driver Albert Zarnke, 9th Battalion. The large mound of dirt has been decorated with light coloured beach stones and similar graves are visible in the background. A railway fireman of Wondai, QLD, he enlisted on 2 September 1914 and sailed with E Company aboard HMAT Omrah. He was killed in action, aged 22, on 20 May 1915 and is buried at Shell Green Cemetery, Gallipoli Peninsula.
