Description

Mr A M Morris, the Australian ambassador to South Vietnam, addressing the last Australian soldiers to leave South Vietnam formed up in an aircraft revetment at the Tan Son Nhut airport. The decision of the newly elected Australian Labor Government to withdraw the last of the Australian troops from Vietnam resulted in soldiers from the Australian Army Training Team Vietnam (AATTV) and the Australian Army Assistance Group Vietnam (AAAGV) departing from South Vietnam in two RAAF-C-130 aircraft on 18 December 1972.
