Description
Collection relating to 6297 Private David Joseph King, 12 Battalion AIF, who was killed in action in France on 1 May 1918. Two items are original handwritten condolence letters written to Private King's mother, Mrs S A Crawford of Ulverstone Tasmania, from Captain Laurence Edgar Burt and 6302 Private Charles Henry Loone, both of the 12th Battalion. The third item is a handwritten list of the names of 10 Australian soldiers, who were killed in the same incident as Pte King. The writer of the list is unknown. Also included in collection is an empty envelope addressed to a Nurse Aslin, Paddington NSW, in 1909.
