Informal portrait of 1/3730 Private (Pte) T 'Spud' Murphy, of Cairns, Qld, 2nd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (2RAR), positioned in the turret of a Daimler Ferret armoured car, which is being used as an escort vehicle for the protection of convoys moving through the jungle roads of Southern Kedah. Pte Murphy recently donated blood to save the life of a wounded Communist terrorist who was captured in the 2RAR area of operations by members of the Number 1 Police Field Force.
