Informal portrait of 1/2427 Private (Pte) Arthur 'Bluey' Hamilton, of Mackay, Qld (rear) erecting his insect net and tent, while his mate 3/4608 Pte Kev O'Meara, of Windsor, Vic (foreground) unpacks ration packs for the evening meal. The men are from D Company, 2nd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (2RAR), who are part of an eight day ambush patrol, hunting Communist terrorists in the jungle of Perak. Both men also served in Korea from 1953-1954. Pte Hamilton served with 2RAR and Pte O'Meara served with 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR).
