Explosives expert 3/11147 Corporal Vic Pollock, of Petersham, NSW, 4 Troop, Royal Australian Engineers, attached to 11th Independent Field Squadron, Royal Engineers, places plastic explosive in readiness for destroying another 60 kilogram bomb at the Browne Estate (a rubber plantation) on Penang Island. Thousands of these bombs were left by the Japanese at the end of the Second World War and the Australians have been given the job of removing and destroying them.
