Other ranks tunic : Turkish Army
Manufactured from medium weight homespun wool in a 2/1 twill pattern. The body is a single panel, seamed at the shoulders. The cuffed, full length sleeves have round reinforced elbows and three pleat reductions at the cuff. The tunic closes at the centre front with a short overlap and five buttons. The buttonholes are hand worked in unmatched cotton threads. The turned in front closures are machined into place and cut raw on the inside facing. The tunic is finished with a large stand and fall collar. The collar closes at the neck with a metal hook and eye device. The lower edge has a rolled hem. At the back waist is a second rectangular panel of wool fabric which has been horizontally machine-stitched, forming two casings holding two narrow, same fabric belt lengths.
Original history unknown. A typical Turkish other ranks' tunic.
