Description
Lieutenant General William Kelly Harrison (second from left), US Army and chief United Nations (UN) Negotiator, with his Aide-de-camp (third from left) on his way to sign the truce in the hastily built building at Punmanjon on 27 July 1953. They are flanked by two Military Policemen (MP) and other United Nations troops are gathered about the preparation tents at rear. All are wearing a light blue paper identification tag on their shirts. This photograph is one of a series taken by the Australian Mr Douglas (Doug) Bushby in his capacity as a UN accredited War Correspondent. Mr Bushby devoted much of his time to relief and missionary work amongst Korean refugees, orphans and North Korean and Chinese prisoners of war.
