6911 Private Hector Ellis 'Tex' Adams has his eye to the sights of a recoilless rife (RCL), a new weapon just issued to the 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR) in Korea. This new equipment has the hitting power of a light artillery piece but is light enough to be manhandled by its crew. Pte Adams, who comes from Glen Orchy, Tas, worked in Launceston before joining the army.
