Description

In the Australian Army even the dogs get inoculated. Every few months the twenty or thirty dogs kept as pets by soldiers of the 1st battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR) in Korea, have to line up for anti-rabies injections. Member of the Royal Australian Army Medical Corps (RAAMC), 33387 Corporal (Cpl) John Albert Caspar, of Bendigo, Vic, is injecting 'Rusty', who is being held by 27843 Private (Pte) Eric George Cole of Casino, NSW. Cpl Caspar used to work with a veterinary surgeon before he joined the army, so injecting dogs is no new experience for him. Next in line with 'Phyllis' is 34294 Pte John Leo Gleeson of Warragul, Vic. Waiting their turn are 'Idewah' with 27673 Pte Barry William Horn of Croydon Park, NSW, and 'Lady' with 6628 Pte Keven Anderson Scott, of Launceston, Tas.
