Description

Private (Pte) Don Mercer of the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps (RCAMC), leaves his quarters in Korea for the last time. He is among seventy officers and men of 76 Advanced Dressing Station (ADS), who are leaving for home after completing fourteen months service with 1 Commonwealth Division. They are being replaced by a reinforcement draft flown out from Canada. Pte Mercer, who comes from North Edinburgh, Ottawa, Canada, is being farewelled by two of the men just out from Canada, Pte John Smelt (left), of Bancroft, Ontario, and Pte Roch Cauvier of Grand River, Quebec. Pte Smelt is doing his third tour of duty in Korea.
