Description
Members of an Australian patrol into the Demilitarised Zone (DMZ) on the Korean truce line. Soldiers of the 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR) alternate with other Commonwealth units in sending out patrols into that part of the zone in front of 1 Commonwealth Division sector. The soldiers are accompanied by a specially trained patrol dog handled by a British soldier from the Dorset Regiment. To his left is Indigenous serviceman 26543 Private (Pte) Rowley Edward Callen, of the 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR). Members of the patrols wear Military Police (MP) helmets and armbands when they enter the zone.
