A mortar team of the 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR), goes into action during a mortar shoot on the Korean truce line. Passing one of the heavy 3 inch bombs to the loader is 27498 Private Noel Pearce of Katoomba, NSW. The soldiers are competing against other Commonwealth Division units in a competition designed to test their speed and accuracy in handling the mortars. 1RAR won easily.
