Description

Sergeant (Sgt) Geoff Webb, a member of the Royal Australian Corps of Signals (RA Sigs) serving with the Britcom Base Signal Regiment, proudly shows the Argus photograph of his wife and son to Private First Class (PFC) Sam Hilow, US Signals. When the Argus photographs and copies of the newspaper arrived in Japan, Sgt Webb, who is normally stationed at Kure, Japan, had just commenced a course of instruction at the immense US Signals Overseas Relay Station near Tokyo. His new American friends are taking time out from handling some of the 15,000 messages which daily pass through this station, to congratulate the father and remark on his son's apparent lung power. 'It has been great to see a picture of my little family so soon,' said Sgt Webb, ' and I just can't say how much I appreciate the Argus' gesture."
