27528 Private (Pte) Noel Leslie Honess, now serving with the 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian ...
Description
27528 Private (Pte) Noel Leslie Honess, now serving with the 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR), used to work on his father's farm at Currabubula, near Tamworth, NSW, before he joined the Australian Regular Army three years ago. Pte Honess now drives a three ton truck and is about to leave camp on a lengthy trip. Handing up a bedding roll to Pte Honess is his armed escort, or 'shotgun guard' as they are known in Korea, Pte Harry 'Squizzy' Taylor of Ryde, NSW. Pte Taylor's presence is necessary, because a driver travelling by himself along the lonely roads of Korea at night is liable to be held up by one of the parties of armed bandits that infest the hills in some parts of Korea.
