Description
An American and two Australians from the 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR) share a water bottle on a tank turret during night exercises near the Korean truce line. They are, left to right: an American tank commander, Sergeant G A Forward, of Texas, USA; 13253 Private Kevin Dare, of Yeppoon, Qld; and Captain (Capt) Jim Elbourne, of Strathfield, NSW. Capt Elbourne is the Officer Commanding Support Company, 1RAR. (Capt Jim Elbourne is probably 2397 Arthur David Elbourne). Note the .50 Calibre M2 Browning heavy machine gun (HMG) in the foreground.
