Description
27498 Private (Pte) Noel Pearce, of Katoomba, NSW, is a member of an Australian truce line patrol in Korea. Pte Pearce has been serving in Korea for five months with the 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR). He takes his turn with other 1RAR soldiers in patrolling the Demilitarised Zone (DMZ), the no man's land which separates the United Nations forces from the Communists (North Koreans and Chinese), along the 180 mile length of the truce line. Pte Pearce was a truck driver in Sydney before he joined the Australian Regular Army three years ago. He used to play football for the Katoomba Blues.
