Zero, Lake Sentani airstrip, Dutch New Guinea
Description
Imperial Japanese Navy aircraft, known generally as 'Zero', on the Lake Sentani airstrip, Sentani, Dutch New Guinea. The aircraft depicted is not actually the more well known Navy 'Zero' but a Imperial Japanese Army Air Force Nakajima Ki-43 fighter known during the war as 'Oscar'. A drop fuel tank lies underneath the right wing.
