After the Queen's Birthday parade of British Commonwealth forces at Kure, Japan, Mrs Bierwirth, the wife of Lieutenant General R Bierwirth, Commander in Chief, British Commonwealth Forces Korea (BCFK), attends a children's party given in her honour. Here three young Japanese girls are performing a ballet dance, the dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy. The girls sitting in the background dressed in Kimonos are not Japanese. They are probably the daughters of British Commonwealth servicemen stationed in Japan.
