Studio portrait of Lieutenant (Lt) George Arthur Lamerton, E Company, 11th Battalion, of Leederville, WA. Lt Lamerton enlisted on 3 September 1914 and embarked from Fremantle aboard HMAT Ascanius on 2 November 1914 as a corporal, with service number 565. He was awarded the Military Cross (MC) on 1 January 1918. Lt Lamerton was killed in action on 10 August 1918 in France, aged 30 years.
