Description
Depicts a soldier (possibly American?), wearing uniform and a helmet, holding and kissing a small child in his arms. The soldier is in Iraq. Thomas de Kessler was born in Hungary in 1925, and educated at the Academy of Applied Arts and the Academy of Fine Art in Budapest, obtaining qualifications in graphics and silversmithing. He migrated to Australia in 1950 and has worked as a graphic designer, producing prints, murals, designs for theatre sets, costume designs and book illustrations. His illustrations often comment on the moral, social and political impact of war.
