An instructor (wearing black beret, right) from the Australian Army Armoured Fighting Vehicle ...
Description
An instructor (wearing black beret, right) from the Australian Army Armoured Fighting Vehicle (AFV) School giving a lecture on gunnery drill for future tank commanders. Two of the men are inside a tank turret simulator, based on a Vickers Mk VI light tank, which uses compressed air to fire pellets at a spinning X shaped target marker in the background. The turret simulator is probably fitted with a rolling yawing pitching assembly (RYPA) which will simulate a moving vehicle. One of the men is acting as the gunner, shooting at the target and the other is acting as the commander and is observing the fall of shot through a pair of binoculars. Other target silhouettes can be seen in the background (left).
