Description
Instruction plate from a German aircraft shot down during the 1914-1918 war The plate is 85 x 35 x 1 mm thick, and bears the inscription: "WECHSELSTROM- MASCHINE NUR MITLAUFEN LASSEN BEI STROM- ENTNAHME." (Alternating current machine (alternator) can only run with current earthed. (Translated) The letters are etched into the plate and appear to have been black.

This plate was recovered by Chaplin the Reverend D. B. BLACKWOOD MC from an unknown German aircraft.
