Description

This weapon was mounted in a CAC Sabre and was developed on the gas operated revolver principle. This particular weapon has been sectioned for instructional purposes and mounted on a display stand. An electric motor also rotates the breech in this display. The weapon is made from metal and the barrel and receiver are painted matt black. The barrel and operating mechanism are sectioned and outlined with matt red paint. The cabinet containing the electric motor has a stippled gloss green finish. An electric power cord is provided to operate the gun mechanism using mains power. The number 4374 is impressed into the breech housing while the number 416 is also embossed on the casing.

History / Summary

The ADEN cannon sectioned simulator was used by the Royal Australian Air Force as an instructional device for training armourers on the functioning of the 30 millimeter ADEN cannon which were used as aircraft armament on Australian manufactured Sabre fighter aircraft.
