Description

Cockpit lamp manufactured to specifications decreed by the UK Air Ministry for installation in British military aircraft from the Second World War. Lamp is composed of frosted glass and is housed in a metal casing with protruding electrical cable and original metal bracket attached to the rear. Connecting ports are also present. Inscription around the rim of the metal casing reads: ' LAMP COCKPIT MARK1A RAAF REF No. 5C/446'

History / Summary

The Cockpit Lamp is of a standard type used in numerous Britiish designed or built aircraft during the Second World War. Some examples remained in use until the 1960s.
