Description
The sandbagged D Company, 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR) Headquarters bunker at the forward base at Stass. Note the ladder leaning against the wall which provides access to the camouflaged observation post on the roof. Possibly identified are 33802 Major (Maj) Anthony Rogers Roberts (left), who later served in South Vietnam with 2nd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (2RAR), from 1970-1971 (Maj Roberts, during was awarded the South Vietnamese Gallantry Cross with Gold Star and the Armed Forces Honour Medal 1st Class) and 53013 Corporal Leslie Arthur Stewart (right), who also served in Malaya and Singapore and later served in South Vietnam with 3RAR, from 1967-1968.
