Two small local boys watch four unidentified soldiers preparing a 120mm L4 MOBAT (Modified Battalion Anti Tank) recoilless anti tank gun, commonly known as a Bat Gun, on the foreshaw at Sunggi Linggi in the state of Melaka (Malacca) on the south west coast of the Malayan Peninsula. The breech, sights and Bren ranging gun have been shrouded in canvas covers and the gun is configured for towing, indicating that it has just been delivered to this position or it is about to be towed away. Note the four ammunition tubes in front of the gun, which each contain one round of 120mm recoilless ammunition. The tubes have been stencilled with '120mm' and 'BAT HESH' (High Explosive Squash Head). The soldier on the left appears to be talking on a United States (US) manufactured AN-PRC 25 wireless set.
