Description
Studio portrait of 968 Private (Pte) Andrew Waslin, 5th Reinforcements, 7th Light Horse Regiment, of West Bank, Fishlake, England. Tpr Waslin enlisted on 19 January 1915, along with two of his brothers William and Thomas. He embarked from Newcastle aboard HMAT Kabinga on 21 May 1915. His brother Trooper William Waslin was killed in a trench when a stick bomb exploded at his feet on 11 November 1915 at Gallipoli Peninsula, Turkey, aged 22 years. At the time of his death his three brothers were also present in the same trench and wrote to their mother about his death.
