Studio portrait of the four Waslin brothers who all enlisted in the Australian Light Horse Brigade after emigrating to Australia from England five years previously. Identified, left to right, back row: 965 Trooper (Tpr) William Pickard Waslin, 7th Light Horse, who enlisted 19 January 1915 and was killed at Gallipoli Peninsula, Turkey on 11 November 1915, aged 22 years; 967 Private (Pte) Thomas Waslin; 1035 Pte George Waslin and 968 Pte Andrew Waslin. William, Thomas and Andrew all embarked from Newcastle aboard HMAT Kabinga on 21 May 1915. George embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Uganda on 15 June 1915 with 6th Reinforcements. All four brothers were station hands at a property at Wagga Wagga, NSW. Thomas had written on the back of this photograph ‘my post card of this got nearly worn out so we tried to take one off it but it did not turn out too good’.
