Description

An unidentified Australian corporal, probably from 1 Health Support Battalion (1HSB), removes the bandage from a wound on the jaw of an Indonesian man in Banda Aceh public hospital. The soldier is wearing a 'Camelbak' portable water pack. Obtaining safe drinking water was a major health concern for local people and rescue workers alike in the aftermath of the tsunami of 26 December 2004. Australian military forces were deployed to Indonesia under Operation Sumatra Assist, to assist with relief operations.
