British Commonwealth Base Workshops at Hiro, Japan, have been handed back to the Japanese Government as part of the run down due to finish at the end of the year. During the Korean War the workshops rebuilt 100 vehicles a month and since 1951 when it was taken over for the second time by the Commonwealth Forces, the workshops have been responsible for the repair of all vehicles in the area.
