Description
View of the mess hut at the H/F D/F (High Frequency, Direction Finding or 'huff duff') campsite at Truscott Base. The path to the left of the hut shown, led to the H/F D/F hut. The secret base, on the Anjo Peninsula in the remote Kimberly region of Western Australia, was built in 1944 so the RAAF could launch raids on the Japanese enemy in Asia. The base was only accessible by ferry.
