Description
The H/F D/F (High Frequency, Direction Finding or 'huff duff') campsite at Truscott Base. Shown is the H/F D/F hut, with four tall aerials attached to the roof, the small antenna to the right was used to check the allignment of the D/F receiver. The secret base, on the Anjo Peninsula in the remote Kimberly region of Western Australia, was built in 1944 so the RAAF could launch raids on the Japanese enemy in Asia. The base was only accessible by ferry.
