Studio portrait of 3526 Private (Pte) Julian Thomas Whiston, 11th Reinforcements, 8th Battalion, of Garfield, Vic. Pte Whiston enlisted on 7 August 1915 and embarked from Adelaide aboard HMAT Nestor on 11 October 1915. He died of wounds on 21 March 1918, whilst serving with the 59th Battalion at Wyteschaete, Belgium, aged 20 years.
