Official certificate of issue for the German Cross of Honour (Frontline Troops) in the name of 'Schlosser (or Mechanic) Heinrich Wolf / in Russelsheim'. Issued at Gross-Gerau (near Mainz) on 5 August 1935; certificate number 4410/35.

History / Summary

Related to the First World War service of Schlosser (Mechanic) Heinrich Wolf, who was born 2 November 1894 and died 28 August 1938. Wolf was a resident of Russelsheim am Mein and worked for the Opel car Company after his discharge from service in France. The Cross of Honour (Ehrenkreuz des Weltkrieges) was instituted on 13 July 1934 in three catagories for those Germans who had served during the First World War. Over 6 million were issued to Frontline veterans.
