Description
A militia camp for the Australian Horse at Constitution Hill, near Windsor, NSW. A large open field is filled with over twenty tall, EPIP (Eight Person India Production) tents and more than 100 unsaddled horses tied to tether lines. Men can be seen interspersed among the horse lines tending to the horses' needs. ‘Camp of Australian Horse Constitution Hill 1899’ is inscribed at the bottom of the photograph. Constitution Hill is a famous landmark in the 1804 Vinegar Hill convict rebellion.
