Description
A young Dutch child wearing bib and brace overalls, slides down a home made slippery slide on board HMAS Platypus. The slide and wooden toys were made by some of the crewmen in HMAS Platypus carpenters’ workshop. The toys were made for Dutch children who had been prisoners of war (POWs) of the Japanese at Ambon.
