O'Neill speaks of his role as the Intelligence Officer 5th Battalion The Royal Australian Regiment; evaluating sources and seeking information; the cover plan for Operations Yass and Hayman - the cordon and search of Lang Phuoc Hoa, followed by the search and destroy operation on Long Son Island, with pre-operation reconnaissance facilitated by the South Vietnamese Navy; the success of these operations in capturing a significant number of Viet Cong.
