Townsend speaks of 6th Battalion The Royal Australian Regiment’s anticipation of its return to Australia and expresses his appreciation of the professionalism shown by the soldiers in the battalion and the support by private individuals and various battalion families’ associations and organisations, such as the Overseas Forces Fund and Returned Services League Queensland Patriotic Fund, in Australia.
