Description
61097 Lieutenant Ian John Gollings (left) (platoon commander), briefing members of his platoon while on counter terrorist operations in the deep jungle of northern Perak. Also identified are (centre) 36337 Private (Pte) Tony Parrello (platoon signaller); and 3791316 Sergeant (Sgt) Ray Evans (platoon sergeant). All three went on to serve with the Australian Army Training Team Vietnam (AATTV), where Tony Parrello held the rank of Sergeant. While serving with the AATTV, Sgt Parrello was killed in action on 1 February 1968.
