Studio portrait of 991 Gunner (Gnr) Gladstone William Byrne, 5 Light Horse Regiment (LHR) of Tumut, NSW. Gnr Byrne embarked with 5th Reinforcement from Newcastle on HMAT Malakuta on 17 May 1915. He was later served with 13th Australian Field Artillery Brigade. He was killed in action on 30 September 1915, aged 30. This is a photograph from Sister Imlay's collection held in the Private Records Collection at PR87/107.
