History / Summary
Awarded to QX21412 Lance Corporal Arthur Tasman Henry for his service in the Second World War. His Australia Service Medal is missing from the group. Henry was born in Hobart, Tasmania in 1913 but was working Brisbane, Queensland when he enlisted in the Second AIF on 2 May 1941 and was assigned to 2/13 Field Company Engineers. Henry served in North Africa and took part in the Battle of El Alamein. He later served in New Guinea and in Tarakan in the Dutch East Indies in 1945. He was discharged, with the rank of lance corporal, on 5 November 1945.
