Informal portrait of Aboriginal serviceman, 217753 Corporal (Cpl) Donald George (Don) Beale, who served in Vietnam with 2 Troop, 1st Field Squadron, Royal Australian Engineers, attached to 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR) between 13 May 1968 and 4 May 1969, holding a beer and a cigarette. Cpl Beale continues the tradition set by his father and two uncles, all of whom served in the Army during the Second World War.
