Biographical information: born 16 August 1888; enlisted 15 August 1914; embarked 19 October 1914, HMAT Hororata; served 6 Battalion; wounded 25 April 1915, Gallipoli; rejoined unit 14 July 1915; killed in action 7 August 1915, Gallipoli, leading attack on German Officers' trench. Son of James Henry and Jessie Ann Spargo, of 173 Tooronga Road, East Malvern, Victoria, Australia. Native of Brunswick.
