Description
A line of Chinese soldiers kneeling with their hands on their heads in front of a group of soldiers from Company, 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR), just beneath the ridge of the low section of the island feature occupied by 3RAR at Kapyong. The Chinese are prisoners taken at dawn on 24 April while the Battle of Kapyong is still in progress. The Australian soldiers include Lieutenant 'Jimmy' Young, Officer Commanding 6 Platoon (left, without hat, wearing greatcoat); Sergeant Morris, 6 Platoon, Headquarters; Captain Darcy Laughlin, Company Commander (right of tree, without hat, holding coat) and Lieutenant Johnny Ward (position unknown).
