A simple wooden cross marks the graves of 2857 Private (Pte) Leslie Victor Brooks, 3rd Battalion AIF and 13892 Pte F C Davies, Duke of Wellingtons (West Riding Regiment) 10th Battalion, at Lijssenthoek Cemetery, Belgium. Pte Brooks, a clerk of Petersham, NSW, enlisted on 13 August 1915 and sailed with the 6th Reinforcements aboard HMAT Euripdes on 2 November 1915. He died of wounds on 21 September 1917, aged 23.
